Surrounded by natural beauty, a quiet environment and friendly people, Holbox Island is the ideal place to get away, get away from it all and spend a relaxing holiday. Being a small island, it is very picturesque and still retains its white sand streets, wooden houses and has been decorated with beautiful murals that you can admire in every corner of the island.
It is fun to travel and get excited about the art that is reflected in the houses, each one tells a story or sends a different message. Its fun shapes full of bright colors make you stay a few moments admiring every detail, interpreting the message and especially admire the great work of the artist.
We can see faces of people who are admired in the place or historical characters, who remind us of the importance of Mexican culture and the value of the characters. Some murals highlight the fauna of the place and the importance of protecting it, and only some are free thoughts in which you can give it the meaning that comes to you when you perceive it.
All this started in 2014 when they decided to invite artists from different parts of the world to capture their vision of the island on the walls of the houses, this caused great acceptance for both visitors and their inhabitants, and since then the International Festival of Art takes place every year. Then tour the island on foot, by golf cart or by bike and discover the different murals that are watered throughout the place.
